Karnak temple complex in Luxor Egypt is an awesome testament to Egyptian engineering and devotion to their gods. Each pillar was once completely covered in hieroglyphics, with most still original and some restored.  Without the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, we may have never known the stories all these symbols are translating. Each pillar is about 5 stories tall and 20ft in circumference.
